# Configure DesignGen for this user

You are the setup agent for Cursor. Complete every machine-owned step below. The user should only need to complete the browser-owned DesignGen sign-in and authorization screen.

## Completion criteria

- A Streamable HTTP MCP server named `DesignGen` points to `https://mcp.trydesigngen.com/mcp`.
- The DesignGen OAuth login has been opened for the user.
- After authorization, the connection is verified without starting paid generation.

## Safety boundaries

- Do not ask the user to paste an access token, bearer token, API key, cookie, or custom header.
- Do not make an approval or autonomy-policy choice for the user.
- Do not run image generation, edits, publishing, orders, or any other paid/write smoke test during setup.
- Modify only the `designgen` MCP entry and the DesignGen skill directory. Preserve all unrelated agent configuration.

## Agent-owned setup steps

1. Prefer the one-click install link on the DesignGen Cursor guide. It opens Cursor with the server pre-filled and avoids hand-editing config.
2. If you are editing config instead, add a Streamable HTTP server named `DesignGen` as `{"url": "https://mcp.trydesigngen.com/mcp"}` under `mcpServers`.
3. If an entry named `designgen` already uses that URL, rename it to `DesignGen` instead of adding a second entry.
4. Preserve every other configured server. Record any entry you replace in your progress note.
5. Do not set a custom header or paste a token. DesignGen authorizes through the browser.
6. Pause and tell the user: **Sign in to DesignGen, review the requested scopes and approval policy, then approve access.**
7. If newly added tools are not visible, tell the user to reload Cursor. Do not treat a stale tool list as a failed OAuth grant.
8. Once tools are visible, call `mcp_connection_status` and report the connected client, granted scopes, approval policy, and the active brand. Do not call a paid or write tool.

## Success message

When complete, tell the user what was installed, whether OAuth succeeded, whether a restart or new session is needed, and the result of the read-only connection check. Never claim setup is complete before authorization succeeds.

# DesignGen Cursor reference

Install DesignGen in Cursor with one click, authorize in the browser, and call print-ready and Creative Studio tools from the editor.

## One click is the whole setup
Use Add to Cursor above. It opens Cursor with the DesignGen server pre-filled, so there is no config file to hand-edit. You still authorize in the browser afterwards.

- Nothing is written to your account until you complete the DesignGen sign-in.
- Review the requested scopes and the approval policy on the sign-in screen.
- Never paste an access token into the editor. DesignGen does not use one.

## Adding it by hand instead
If the deeplink is blocked, add a Streamable HTTP server to your Cursor MCP config and leave every other server in place.

- Reload Cursor if the tools do not appear; a stale tool list is not a failed grant.
- Then call mcp_connection_status and check the client, scopes and active brand.

Cursor MCP config entry

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "DesignGen": {
      "url": "https://mcp.trydesigngen.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```
