Hermes has a built-in MCP client and can complete the whole setup itself. Use Copy setup for your agent at the top of this page.

  • Hermes discovers tools at startup and exposes them as first-class tools it can call.
  • Remote servers authorize over OAuth, so no token needs to be pasted anywhere.
  • You handle only the browser-owned step: sign in, review scopes, approve.

Add the server

Register the production endpoint from the Hermes CLI.

  • Leave every other configured server untouched.
  • Restart Hermes if the new tools are not visible; a stale tool list is not a failed grant.
  • Once tools appear, call mcp_connection_status and report the scopes and approval policy.

Add DesignGen to Hermes
